    1972-73 seat receptacle differences

Seems the black cover for the 1972-73 receptacle came in two different versions; one with textured surface and one with plain surface. Both types have the same part numbers 911.803.127.00/911.803.128.00 on the back.

Most US cars I have seen have the textured version.

Could it be that the textured ones are for US cars, and the plain type for Europe?

Or did Repa just update the design at some point? And if so, when did that happen?

    Any ideas?

Here are both types shown. Plain type at the top, and textured ones below:

    Good question Thomas...

My '73 parts book list the same part numbers as you with the heading of:

Safety belt with Automatic and warning system for USA from 1/1/72

Could it be the difference is between the 'wired system' and not?

Mine is April '73 build, USA delivered, with textured cover...

I think all 1972-73 sport seat receivers had the part numbers 911.803.127.00/911.803.128.00 on the back. Both the euro version and the us version with wires for buzzers. But I would really like to know for sure.

It is also interesting to see that the textured design of the receptacle matches the design on the belt buckle. I got a set of 1972 belts and a set of 1975 belts. Both have the same textured buckle design as the buckle in Chuck´s picture has.

So, who else has the non-textured receptacles? And does anyone have 1972-73 receptacles with other part numbers than 127.00 and 128.00?
