    Tensioner kit or not ???

Hi. I am half way through the rebuild of my 2.2E 1971 engine, I have to ask the question of what is the best tensioner set up. At the moment I have tensioners 930.105.501.OR but would like to know should I rebuild these, use safety collars (stops), upgrade to later tensioners or go for the hydraulic kit. My car will be moderate street use. Just don't know what the best way to go is.

These threads are like best oil threads, you will get varied opinions and here is mine. For moderate street use, rebuild those with a kit, add the collars, replace the sprocket arms to the wider type and replace the sprockets to the bushed type if both of these are not already done. Finally, install a set of the latest ramps.

I'm fitting new ramps as part of the rebuild. Ill look into rebuilding the tensioners too.
