    Purpose of slots on front bumper guards?

    Does anyone know what the purpose of the slots on the top of the front bumper guards on SWB cars ids for?

    Early front bumpers must have had a propencity to flatchulate and needed a way to vent.
    That is why 911s have never been described as "stinky"
