Need advice on '69S front oil cooler

My '69S currently has a trombone-style oil cooler up front and I'd like to get the car back to its original specs with a radiator-type cooler. Are there any NOS coolers available? Are they stupid expensive? Does anyone make a replacement cooler that is a direct bolt-on replacement? What are the rest of you guys using?

    Many thanks!

The last nos 69-71 oil cooler i saw was sold (last year ) for 3.5k euro.
If you need it, send a pm to me.
Btw, if you want only a modern replacement, there are lots of similar products reproduced.
    Ciao.

Stoddards was advertising a oil cooler that looked to be an original part. Sierra Madre collection has a repo that looks and fits like the original, but costs less.

I recently replaced my my trombone oil cooler with the sierra madre part and it works great. You can't see it behind the cover shield anyway.

    "Looks like original"?
    I don't think so.

And you can see the bottom of it even with the cover in place. It all depends on whether one desires original or not.

Kind of like putting fake Fuchs on your car.

The repro cooler looks very similar to the original R coolers. http://www.ea1Z5776W10491874967rly91...11r+oil+cooler

A sensible option in my opinion. I have made my own for less than, $800.
The price of these has got to be the most overpriced part on a 911.

Couldn't agree more but like it or not, an aftermarket cooler hurts resale value.

One of those parts you need to stalk Frank. Patience is the name of the game. As soon as you put up a wanted advert, they want one of your testicles too.

'72 all by its lonesome. Larger fittings.

Didn't like my comment Chuck? It was funny though, right?
