    Thermostat question

This is a photo of the oil thermostat of the 73 RS lightweight that just sold at essen for 850k EUR. I'm currently fitting an external oil cooler to my 73T as part of an engine swap to an SC engine. I have preety much all the parts now and took a few photos of where all the clamps are fitted etc. the thermostat is behind the rear wheel on the RS, but in front on the later cars. Is this correct?

Another question. Is there a panel that includes captive nuts for the oil line clamps, or are the screwed in?

    That is correct....

I believe there were 3 different locations for the external thermostats through '73.
In '74 the factory located them in front of the rear tire, and that's where they stayed thereafter.........

Any idea which lines are which? I have bought an almost complete used external oil cooler setup, which will have the thermostat located in the post 73 location. The engine that i will be putting into my 70T is a 79 SC engine. The chap i bought the oil cooler from threw in the spare oil lines he had, but couldn't remeber where they all went and said there are probably a couple of bits missing. I have the complete setup from the thermostat forward. Question is, which of the lines in the photo go where? The fat one is part 911.107.233.00, which is the oil tank to the engine mounted oil cooler line.
