Installing seat belts with retractors in 71

I have a set of original safety belts for my 71. I am uncertain about what hardware I do not have for the installation. The PET does not give enough info on the blots, spacers and washers needed. Can someone help me with pictures and/or description? And how to find the bolt hole in the wall below the rear window for the retraction reel? And the black plastic cover for the female reseptor mounted to the inside of the seat, how can that fit with the bolt and mounting hole?

BTW I know, the bolts should be silver....

    Thanks

Call me and I can walk you through the process. I can tell you how to do it but if I try to explain it on this forum I will just confuse you and myself, too. Looking at your pictures, you are trying to install inertia reel seat belts along with 85 or later seats. You appear to be trying to mate some of your original seat belt parts with later inertia reels. It ain't going to work, that way.

    Regards

    seat belt installation

    Hi John,

I have scanned the pages from the Porsche manual that shows the correct mounting. It's a 2 MB pdf, will try to upload it here. The inertia reel is the correct Autoflug as first shown by Porsche in 1971 with the standard or sport REPA receiver. Only in 1972 they started to use the VW reels with different receiver.

    Med vennlig hilsen, Cees

Jim, acctally my seats are the original 1971 sports seats, and the belts should be correct for 71. Cees, my email is jl "at" fairchance "dot" com

BTW I figured out the mounting of the receivers, they go on the inside of the mounting bracket, not the outside.....

    Thanks guys;-)

I see from the PPET that i need the following for a 71 Targa with sports seats:

B-pillar, hex bolt 90180314500, washer 99902511302, washer 90180314700, and another washer with the same part number
Reel to wall behind seat, hex bolt 90180312400, lock ring 90002701702, washer 90180314401, support? , spacer tube 90180311240
Mounting on both sides of the seat tilt mec, hex bolt 90180312710, spring washer N0122385

    This is what I have:

Still wander if any of the hardware I have is correct, compared to the parts list above.

    Hi John,

Most is correct and usable. You miss two thin wavered washers that go under the bolt for the receivers. The other wavered washer goes under the outside anchor point on the sport seats. You miss the four plastic washers in which the black B-pillar mounting hooks are sandwiched. You have a mix of 3-point seat belt mounting hardware and inertia reel. For a Targa, the thick spacer is mounted on the bolt for the inertia reel, not on the B-pillar as for a coupe.

    BR, Cees
