    73 911 E Rear defrost stopped working

The rear defrost (window heater) stopped working. I have power at the #3 fuse in the engine compartment but no power to the two stage switch in the dash. It's kind of important to fix because that switch also powers my radar detector (need to be able to turn it off quickly) and my air fuel ratio meter. All fuses are brand new with clean connections.

    Any help is appreciated.

Would like to fix it correctly, however if I stole power from the cig. lighter would that potentially cause an issue someplace else?

    Thanks,

    Chris

It appears that Fuse 7 in the front trunk for the Fan motor also feeds the Rear Defrost Switch.

    E Sully,

You are in fact a genius :-) I pulled out the wiring diagram as well last night and came to the same conclusion. I replaced all the fuses with a better version (brass) except #7 for some reason. Sure enough that was the culprit. Replaced the fuse (was not blown) and everyting came back to life.

    Many Thanks,

    Chris
