Franz,
They mount to the clamps on the J-Tubes. The mounting clamp consists of three pieces of spring steel with bushings at either end, about 100mm long. One end goes on the lower J-tube clamp bolt pointing vertically, then the other end takes the bolt from the center of the horn.
Photos below. The horns fix to the clamp at the base of the J tube using a multi-layer connector.

thanks for the pics.
i do have the later swb style plastic horns(305101>>> ) and they have also the brackets as the car in the photo i posted has(the owner of the car claims that this is how it left the factory).
also parts Manual Shows this on bildtafel 903-15 part#7.
i found a way to mount the horn to the j-pipe useing the part #7 in a way it makes more sens as it does in the first pic.
took a pic but forgot my camera in the shop---will post pictures asap.

Franz, now I understand, you have a later car that is after 305101, the first use of the snail shell horns, and you want to know how they mount. You are right that the early UFO horns cut off at 305100.
exactly the car in question is 308139S currently under construction...
Mine are mounted the same..
