I've got a perfectly good, rebuilt, 901 in a SWB. Other than a more robust G50 why would I want to do this? My 2.2 is fine too so no plans for a 3.0 swap. I've sen a few G50 conversion 'kits' and my interest was piqued.

I can't think of any reason someone would make a kit to install a G50 behind a 2.2.
Someone over on PP claims they have all the parts for a 65-86 conversion. Other than money, more torque and more weight I don't see the reason for a G50-3.0 setup. Just curious.
Honestly the G50 I drove (in a 3.2) was nothing special. A well set up 901 or even 915 is more enjoyable.
I agree Frederick!
Thanks and sort of what I thought. Might be worth it for a shell, project but I'll save the umpteen K's of cash.
I know many other ways to waste time and money on a vintage Porsche. And I love the 901. For me it’s a keeper.
Like most of us I've got more money into it than it's worth but it's fun. The other hobby, Field Trialing German Shorhair's isn't cheap either. Less politics with a car.
no reason what so ever, The 901 is a delightful gearbox
