The key here is to pay no attention to anyone else, and don't worry about future value. Buy the car that you like, the one that excites you. If you aren't buying one of these because the car makes you happy, you are buying for the wrong reasons.
Although I agree with him, I am amazed that Frank abhors brown, living in Arizona. Of course maybe because he would just blend in with the surroundings.

If you purchase a ‘72 won’t you need to store for 3 years to avoid the penalty? Or are you figuring it will be in the body shop for 3 years while it’s going back to turd color?
