It is getting a bit difficult to consentrate....on work...my mind is somewhere along the Pacific coast. Good food are an important part of the experience, and the American steaks are famous.
Over here gasoline is $2 a litre, $7.5 a gallon - and we even produce and export the stuff !! Renting a car is less expensive if we book in advance from Norway - I will check with Hertz if we can get a deal on a Corvette. Our sons are 20 and 24 so we might split up a day or two - if we have two cars for a few days.
Is it necessary to reserve hotel rooms in Solvang this time of the year? Or should we stay somewhere else in the area?

California and more. Did have seventeen fine days - not so much car-related since the whole family had their wishes - Horse riding and Universal studios was not on my list but still fun - and we did go to places I have never heard of - staying in Page, Arizona and Pahrump, Nevada. LA, Las Vegas and San Francisco was fine, but we enjoyed Paso Robles the most. Wine tasting, riding and the Estrella Warbird museum.
All the interesting and nice people we met was the most pleasant experience - Mike at Estrella, Fred and Andrea that we visited in their home in Santa Ana, LA. We did like the food, and the local beer was fine. We did not see more than a fraction of the southwest USA so we would like to come in a not so distant future.
Thanks for all the help making this trip a success even if we did not manage see all the great places and car events. You have a really big country :-)
Did attach a few photos - we did have rain in LA, sunshine in Grand Canyon and did see a race at Laguna Seca.
