Can anyone point me in the right direction for how to adjust the seat belt retractor angle? I have tried searching without success. My belts will not pull out smoothly. They catch and you have to fight them to get them buckled. I have seen somewhere that the angle could be off and the inertia gizmos are catching. Hoping to find some technical info on proper belt angle. TIA
The proper angle is in the multi-volume repair manual. I think it is 12 degrees, but would need to verify. I use a Klein 935 digital angle gauge to set this or other things like the trailing arms (or hanging picture frames in the house-this is how I justified it to my wife !!).

If the webbing does not come out of the reel then simply rotate the reel on the mount whilst pulling the webbing then tighten. . If there locking you won't get an inch of movement on the webbing.
If you are getting the webbing out of the reel then the angle is not your issue.
I appreciate your guys help. The webbing comes out, but catches and the releases and then catches. Eventually, you get it out enough to buckle, so this is why i thought it was an angle thing. I will adjust and see if I can fix it.
Ravi, love you tool purchase justification. I need to come up with a reason for buying another Porsche project :)
Pull the webbing completely out and spray some light penetrating oil (e.g. Archoil 9600) on the rod where the webbing is fixed. Let it soak for a bit and release the webbing to go in. Pull/retract a few times. If still not better, remove the thicker side plastic cap and clean the locking wheel and see how it catches. If not better than not else can be done I am afraid.
Good luck.
