Merv,
Original seats come up all the time on pelican and early S. Not too expensive, particularly if you already have a trimmer and buy some average ones. Keep an eye out and be patient, you will get some. Only issue is freight. I got quoted $1000 per seat for freight for some sport seats. I didn't try and get any better, but I'm sure I could have. I had the Ralle ST in one of my cars and found them a bit firm, but really good quality wise.

Thanks Tim. You're right. I was just looking the 'Classifieds' on Pelican (that's what you meant?) and there few in the past there.
-
I am also very impressed with the Vintage Seats range. They seem to be top drawer. I wish they had a model that had an adjustable backrest, or tilting function for rear access. Maybe I missed that.that. Michael of Vintage Seats has been most helpful.

Is there anyone in the Brisbane or Sunshine Coast region with an early Porsche and repro seats?
-
Merv,
John Forcier "Fishcop" is in Brisbane and has his retrimmed repro seats in the car. I'm on the gold coast but only have some genuine sport seats that would be no good, as would just cloud the issue and cause drooling!!!:D

Yes Tim, I can get some very good original Comfort seats re-covered in leather (no head restraints) but the OEM Sports Seats are beyond value for money - at least in the ones I have seen. The repo ones are the only option there. Still weighing things up ... I might contact John.
-
Welcome to have a look anytime Merv.
-
Appreciated John. You have the Nurburgrings right? Do they tilt for rear seat access and are the comfortable for longer trips?
-
I have Nurburgrings - the fixed back version. I have a rear seat delete, so just sliding them forward is enough for access to the rear. There is an optional tilting bracket available which I'd just add to the passenger seat, I think with the seat slid forward and tilted (maybe with the head rest removed), someone could climb into the rear. In any case, they would give you an idea of the fit.

Seats looks very cool John, I love blackwatch tartan. I had that trim in my Carrera 3. That car now spends a fair bit of time in Brisvegas I beleive.
I did have a tilting bracket with my passenger seat, but removed it. So I have two fixed seats, and given I've had person in the back of the car in the 15 years I've owned it - I didn't think it was a very big issue.
I can still get luggage in - so I'm happy.
