today i saw an other `67 912 with this seat insert material....
where? ………..
That fabric is not pepita/houndstooth.
If it would be „factory“ and since not being „pepita/houndstooth“, its Kardex would specify it accordenly, with a dedicated description title.
Because, if that description title would be „pepita/houndstooth“, then how would indicate the Kardex any „real“ pepita/houndstooth fabric, used througout the years in early seats ?
My guess its period correct upholstery done by a private upholsterer, fabric was back then either widely available or, all cars done by same work source.
Here is the information on the seats and 911. So????????
i have sold the seats but kept the covers...next time i stumble across them i will take some fotos of how they are fabricated..so the seat police can deliver a judgment..
All I can say is that my 70T came new with the seats that the vehicle description page describes as inlay Pepita/houndstooth. Also shown in pictures in the post.
Some folks seem to think they know more. ??????
This should be Pepita 13, a Black/White check pattern. My observation is that the original Pepita 13 was replaced by your current fabric.
