After a year and a half I finally got the car back from paint. I am preparing the suspension and brakes to go out for paint and plating. For the main suspension such as the control arm in the second photo, should they be semi gloss or gloss black? Thanks

the tube is black like the susp parts.
i think the lever was not painted(same for the part that holds the brake calipper)..not sure if the methode to make it rust proof was black oxyde or any other treatment.
here is an example of black-oxide... a bit to brownish
black susp parts here are a bit to semi...
I think the adjusment levers were phosphated followed by some sort of a cosmoline dip or spray.
