Auction Description:
- Recipient of a 1,300-Hour Restoration by Accumoto Motorsport
- Features 2.9-Liter Engine with Lightweight Flywheel and Numerous Performance Upgrades
- Finished in the Period-Correct Color of Tangerine with Tartan Seat Inserts
- Includes Restoration Photos, Records, Spare, Jack, and Tool Roll
- An Exciting 911 Ideally Suited for Spirited Road Use
For this restoration, the Porsche experts at Wisconsin-based Accumoto Motorsport applied their extensive on-track experience to create an exhilarating classic 911 that features many high-end performance upgrades. The work, completed in 2013, retains the clean lines of the early 911 but focuses on enhanced sound, feel, and overall driving experience.
The restorers began by stripping a 1972 911 E to its bare shell. The car was then finished in the period color of Tangerine, accented by a 911 S front bumper, RS-style hood and decklid straps, and NOS Cibie auxiliary lights. Bilstein struts, a strut brace, adjustable suspension mounts, and Smart Racing sway bars increase the car’s handling capability. Leather seats with tartan inserts, a WEVO shifter, and an Italia wood steering wheel enhance the car’s ergonomics to further elevate the driving experience.
The engine is a 2.7-liter unit with increased bore, resulting in a 2.9-liter capacity. It features 9.5-to-1 Mahle pistons, and liners with Andial S camshafts. Intake ports and throttle bodies were increased to 36 mm, and the injection pump was rebuilt to RS specs. PMO MFI velocity stacks provide an intoxicating induction noise. The 915 transaxle runs custom gear ratios and the car is fitted with a lightweight Sachs Power Clutch and Aasco flywheel. These efforts wonderfully sharpen the classic 911 experience into a balanced package that calls to mind Porsche’s great racing heritage.

Auction Description:
- Offered from the Torque Collection
- 1 of 954 “E” coupes produced by Reutter for the 1969 model year
- Fully restored with upgraded suspension
- Elegant and attractive original color combination
- Porsche Production Specifications certificate
Offered here is a very attractive 1969 911 E coupe delivered 18 March 1969 in special-order Blue Metallic (6853) over black leatherette upholstery and charcoal carpets. It was factory-equipped with U.S.-specification sealed-beam headlamps and a speedometer reading in miles per hour, tinted glass all around, and a Blaupunkt Frankfurt stereo radio package. The consignor states that this 911 E spent most of its early life in California, but has been under long-term mid-west ownership since the early 1980s. The original Boge suspension was replaced in 2012. This 911 E was then acquired by the Torque Collection in Wisconsin and enjoyed a full cosmetic restoration in 2016, including a high-quality respray in its original color. The engine was replaced in June 2017 with a fresh 2.4-liter, 140-hp flat-six from a 1973 911 T. The Type 915 transmission was also rebuilt.
This elegant 911 E is accompanied by extensive service documentation and receipts dating from the early 1980s, along with early registration records. The correct jack and tool kit have been freshly cleaned. It is rare to find an early 911 this fresh, with just enough improvements to make it more pleasurable to drive.

Auction Description:
- Offered from the Torque Collection
- Matching-numbers engine
- Suspension upgraded to S specification
- Cosmetically and mechanically restored
- Known ownership history
- Porsche Certificate of Authenticity
Originally delivered to Wisconsin resident Wayne Rindt on 1 February 1970, this Conda Green over black leatherette 911 E coupe was ordered with optional Fuchs five-spoke alloy wheels, a rear exhaust apron, and “U.S. Equipment,” which normally included sealed-beam headlamps, a speedometer in miles per hour, and front and rear lighting that met DOT regulations. The car was sold in 1976 to Margaret Tarber of Milwaukee, and she brought it with her when she relocated to Seattle, and then gave it to her brother, Joe Canfield, in 1989.
The following year, with the odometer showing just over 77,000 miles, Mr. Canfield commissioned a mechanical freshening of the original and numbers-matching 2.2-liter boxer-six engine and installation of the later Carrera chain-tensioner kit, an upgrade almost universally adopted by owners of early 911s. In 2006 Mr. Canfield sold this 911 E to an Idaho collector who in turn resold the car in early 2014. This 911 E’s original self-leveling Boge hydro-pneumatic front suspension has been replaced with the front struts from a 911 S to improve handling, a common upgrade, along with a 911 S front anti-roll bar.
This car has also been fitted with bumper guards, stainless rocker panel covers, and Bosch H4 halogen headlamps. It retains its original radio. More recently it has received new carpeting and has also had the dash refinished. The car’s overall excellent condition belies its current odometer reading of just over 96,000 miles, suggesting it has been very well cared-for throughout its life.
This beautiful, light, and nimble 911 represents a period during which Porsche was rising to the pinnacle of sports car racing and was celebrating its success by offering an exciting palette of bright colors.
This lovely 911 E coupe is offered with a detailed maintenance file, a tool kit and jack, spare wheel and tire, and a factory owner’s manual, and it appears ready to give a new owner many more miles of enjoyable motoring.

BaT Description:
This 1969 Porsche 911E was built on November 8, 1968 and is powered by its numbers-matching 2.0L flat-six, which is mated to the original 901 5-speed manual gearbox. Approximately 25k miles have been added by the seller during his 13-year ownership, and modifications include Carrera-style chain tensioners, Bilstein shocks, sway bars, a Mocal oil cooler, H4 headlights, and more. The car received a repaint in Light Ivory under previous ownership, and rust repair has been performed by the seller. New fuel injection system components were installed in 2014, and an oil change and valve adjustment were performed earlier this year. This 911E is now being offered for sale with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, an original driver’s manual, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.
Originally finished in Sand Beige, the car received a repaint in Light Ivory under previous ownership. Rust repair was performed in both door sills in 2011, while some outlying rust is said to remain in an area on the underbody. Other imperfections noted by the seller include some areas of bubbling in the doors and around the passenger-side headlight, a crease in the rear license plate panel, and various chips and blemishes. Exterior equipment includes a fiberglass 911S-style bumper, aftermarket side mirrors, a pair of foglamps, Euro-spec H4 headlights, and amber taillights. LED bulbs have been fitted, and the 15×6” Fuchs wheels are not original to the car according to the seller. A spare wheel is not available, though an extra tire is included.
Black upholstery shows some creasing and wear, and the driver’s seat bottom has been replaced. Salt-and-pepper carpets cover the floors, and Rennline aluminum transmission tunnel and blower motor assembly covers have been installed. Non-factory 3-point seat belts are installed in front, and anchor bolts remain in the floors from previously installed 5-point harnesses. The dash top shows some cracking, and a factory stereo is equipped in addition to a Momo Prototipo steering wheel with a Porsche horn button and an under-dash A/C unit, which is reported to be functional. The VDO speedometer was repaired in 2017, and a new cable was also installed. The 81k indicated miles are not believed to be accurate, and approximately 25k miles have been added by the seller.
Power is supplied by a 2.0L flat-six mated to a 901 5-speed dogleg gearbox. Previously-installed Weber carburetors were removed by the seller, and mechanical fuel injection components were installed in 2014, including a Zims fuel pump and new injectors. Additional work personally performed by the seller included installing Carrera-style chain tensioners, a Mocal external oil cooler, a new clutch cable, and a new fuel tank. The MFI cold start has been disabled, and an oil change and valve adjustment were performed earlier this year. Stamping *6290437* matches the Porsche CoA, confirming the engine as original and the matching transmission stamping.
The front suspension was refreshed with new bushings, wheel bearings, Turbo tie rod ends, and ball joints in 2009. Bilstein shocks, sway bars, and drilled brake rotors have been fitted. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity shows the original colors and lists the matching powertrain numbers.
