Center Lube Cam Question
The cam covers for 911 engines with center lube cams have a hard rubber insert fitted inside the cover that mates with the opening in the camshaft to direct oil into it. Question: ls that rubber insert replaceable and should it be replaced? I couldn't find a part number for it or any reference to it.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks Ernie, that’s well within my engine number. I’ll see if I could find a pair. Thanks again

They are an insert with a spring, rubber sleeve sealed against a ceramic rubbing face against the cam. Old one are better than new ones. I had a new one, that the rubber sleeve split and dumped oil out instead of pushing it thru the cam. I discovered it after engine dyno and service.

Thanks guys for the info, I'll come up with a way to determine if the seal is making sufficient contact with cam end. If so I will leave the seals in place and monitor oil flow after the engine is started
