Not sure if this has been mentioned, but just discovered that seat recline lever on my 65 911 (301744) is shorter than on other SWB chrome hinges.
Yes, both seats -- both short on 301744, both long on the other two pairs I have in inventory. I think the ones on 301744 are date stamped 6/65. The longer ones have no date stamp (that I can see)
Hi Franz
One data point... please see pic below.
301035 from 23 April '65 has the reinforcement. Ballast resistor also visible in the pic.
Cheers, Richard.

Realise you've got this, but for what it's worth another nearby data point. 301035 has silver 911 on dash.
And that questionably useful contribution is an excuse for a question: 1035 does not have its original seat covers.
Based on this thread, sounds like I should definitely specify 5 pleat for the replacements? Experts please shout now if you disagree, the seat work is fairly imminent.
Cheers, Richard.
Hi Richard, indeed should be 5 pleat seats. I believe this changed from 6 to 5 in 1Q1965 and before VIN 1000. From what I can see, yr 4 screw dash and door hinges are also period correct. Silver 911 on dash also correct.
Cheers, Jacques
my former car #300717 had the cowl reinforcement thing Attachment 495614
and my cofa said the car was done early April 65.
