All,
I am organising a small display of targas on the Saturday am in the Show and Shine area.
3 Carrera Targas were AUS ordered for tourist delivery in 1975 and they will all be present over the weekend.
They come from Sydney,the Sunshine coast and Melbourne.
Please loudly admire these cars especially the Sahara Beige one which I owned for 13 years.
I am writing an article with a view to inclusion in the local edition of Christophorus.

What a road.... My 911L loved it last weekend.

the 2 356's are significant as they were the first two rhd 356s made and the first two into AUS
the historic display was excellent
I am sunburnt,my feet are sore,I am tired and the camera battery has taken too long to re charge = I have had a GREAT two days at our Rennsport !

Well the 911L is back in Melbourne after a very enjoyable 2000 miles. On the approaches into Melbourne the car felt like it could turn around and do it all again. The same could not be said for the driver!
Two highlights of the trip - the Snowy Mountain Highway (where I explored the interesting part of the rev range in 4th and (ever so briefly) 5th gears. Second was winning 3rd outright in the Show N Shine ( a concours of sorts), after driving the car 800 odd miles to get there. What a wonderful little 48 year old car.

I have just finalised a Rennsport project after receiving pics from Rob Scheeren.
In 1975,only 3 Carrera MFI Targas for were ordered for AUS and all three were at the Rennsport weekend.
Unusually,all were tourist delivery quite possibly due to the (relatively) high price in the AUS market of the day.
The Guards red car is a one owner car from Brisbane (Kevin Jarman),the Sahara beige belongs to David Withers of Sydney - I owned this car for 13 years - and the Lime green belongs to Kane Hearn of Melbourne - 4 documented owners and 48,000 km on the clock !
Great club spirit to see them all at Rennsport on the Sunday !
I have written a 6 page story - with Rob's pics - that should be appearing in the AUS edition of Christophorus about September.
