Golden Green here...
Aubergine
Attachment 449853
for me, the best car color I ever saw was golden green.
the next best was the darker metallic olive green on Ferry's car.

I am currently painting a car olive....which seems almost as good as golden green.

Another vote for golden green. Took me years to find mine and I love it more every time I look at it.

Is white a color 131. I know signal Yellow is a color. G
Love leaf green
Plus one to that
Attachment 449882
+1 to Light Ivory, Signal Yellow and Aubergine. Too many great colors from that era to pick one favorite.

+1 also for Light Ivory....not a fan of 'white', but I really do love this color on my 70-S
Metallic Blue
Dalmation Blue
Aubergine
Signal Yellow
Tangerine
And there’s something about Polo Red on an SWB that spins my beanie
356 colors Pascha Red and Meissen Blue. Light Ivory, Aubergine and Silver. I had a Viper Green car for a while and got tired of the color over time. If only one, Light Ivory.
Attachment 449910
Here's a dalmatian blue. Olive, signal yellow, tangerine, conda green ... Too many great colors.
Bahia Red and Tangerine!
Attachment 449920Attachment 449921
Really white white. Attachment 449935
Light ivory is my favorite, too. I don't think that Porsche offered a white-white (except for Speedster white in the 1950s) until the 2.7 Carrera came along in Grand Prix white. This is from memory.
Signal Orange
Signal Yellow
Tangerine
Conda and Viper Green
Pastel Blue
That’s a really difficult question to answer given all the great colors Porsche has offered over the years. Aside from the three I already own, which are Metallic green, Gemini blue and lime green, I would have to say Maritime or Dalmation/Oxford blue or possibly tangerine.
Raise your hand if you're a Chartreuse fan!

Hand raised! Another great period color.
Not sure what surprises me more - how many have said Ivory, or that Frank hasn't said Sepia Brown. I have a polo red car which is my favorite red, but those greens are probably some of the best, and maybe Gemini blue.
Scott
Gemini Blue is a color that can look so different dependent upon the lighting at the time. Love this shot of mine. Then again, how could you not love this Maritime Blue 964?

What is it about Viper Green ....

Nothing like an autumn drive when your car is the same color as the foliage....
It would be fun to compare these colors with what people would have said 10 years ago.. and in another 10 years hence. No question that tastes have changed- a bunch [almost inverse! ]. Whatever happened to silver and black? Years ago I had fun suggesting that guys who painted their Sepia Brown or Bitter Chocolate 911s would regret making them silver. At the time it may have seemed crazy, but look where we are now. The same applies to most of the favorites listed now. 10 years ago most were total yuk. for fun mak you own lists up and see what happens in 2028.. and what you think then. Mostly, keep having fun!
Have always had a soft spot for Irish Green and Slate Gray, probably my all-time favorite vintage Porsche colors.
But I also love Aubergine, Signal Yellow, Bahama Yellow, Polo Red…
A weathered finish, but unsure of the shade..love it.

The longer I stay in the P-car hobby the more I think there's not a bad color to be had in the early car palette. The bright shades - the Signals, Viper/Conda Green, Bahama Yellow, Tangerine, Pastel Blue - get your attention and are so upbeat. The subdued shades - Aubergine, Irish/Leaf Green, Albert Blue, Beige/Slate Gray - exude calm and sophistication. Even the colors that inspire the most vocal distaste - Sepia, Fraise, Sand Beige, Golden Green - make a statement, and it takes a confident owner to stick with them.

Noah makes a good point about driving a car that matches the foliage. My own car is Irish Green and I have that problem in the spring and summer, so in wooded areas I drive with my lights on not so much to see as to be seen.
Attachment 449995
alright, speaking of foliage, I'll post a photo of my favorite early S that I've owned, my '69 S in ossi blue, in the yard at the farm, in the fall....

even w/ a gun to my head Im not sure I could pick just one.
that being said, I may have a fav color but I may want my only 911 to be in a different color..lol
The 911 is original paint and the Staggerwing is the original paint scheme and colors. Not bad for being done in the 30s! I've had the pleasure of driving that car and piloting that Staggerwing. Count me as being in the "Love Sepia Brown" camp.

My hat's off to you for both! That photo's been around for years; I remember seeing it and thinking "7s all around on a narrow body at Euro ride height is my favorite early car look. I think I'll go for that when I ever get one of my own." I did and I have. :D

My 73S in " Rose Red " " Fraise " " Raspberry " Color code 024.
Slate Gray....I hope to get my fathers car back to this color one day.
While working at Hagestad's P+A right out of college, an 1973 Aubergine/tan 911S came in the service drive. I have to say I was very taken by the color. The driver was a Native American who had an "Authentic Indian Driver" sticker in the rear window.

I still love my old Slate Grey 912. Gone to a new owner...sniff, sniff. Attachment 450106
Never crazy about black 911's or targa's but for some reason a black targa just works
The silver/chrome trim and Targa bar really sets a nice contrast.<script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/955c8f46/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/955c8f46/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>
Wheres the AGA Blue love? :)
I don’t have the pic, but I rem never being blown away by a crystal blue RS. Don’t see the color very often. Turquoise is also really nice, also rarely see. I own a beige grey ‘73T and I love it too.
Also fraise, olive, leaf green, ivory, and nobody has mentioned royal purple! All great 2.4 era colors.

Turquoise.
Love Light Ivory (131). Classic clean look. I also love the green colors on the 911’s

At the risk of turning this thread into "What color is your car?", I'll put up Metallic Blue and Light Ivory. That first one just fell into my lap. the second was a deliberate choice based on Porsche's racing history (both are the car's original color). Forgetting all that, I would choose Signal Orange or Slate Gray for an early 911.
