Fraise, Rose red and raspberry are the same colors. Fraise is French for strawberry, but hey, they are entiltled to one translation error.
Fraise does seem darker in person than most people will see on their computer screens; no way it can be called pink.
One of the IROC cars was Fraise.
WOW,
Different computers, scanners, and monitors........... But I think it's Fraise Raj.........
Marco can comment here, but i saw one of these in john esposito's cave, and i believe it was an RSR
Raj,
You guys are looking in the wrong place trying to match up a '74 - '77 special colour to a '73 - '72 colour chart.
The colour is Magenta - H2 H2 coupe in Mark Haab's authenticity book.
A John Barlow had magenta Targa for quite a while in the PC Great Britain show circuit in the early '80s.
You can see a very good pic of John's car on page 241 of Tobias Achiele's Forever Young 911 book
A very distinctive colour and I dont think many were made - just an orphan colour child of the '70s :D
HTH,
Dennis. :)
Ah hah.......... teaches me not to stop looking past '73......... :)
The pink IROC was sold to Victor Hugo O'Farril, he converted it into a slant nose in a Los Angeles shop and painted it red, years later the original fenders were reunited with the car, still red, and sold to Franco Lembo (France) 5 years ago. An article in a British magazine doesn't take into account this IROC in Europe.
Yeah he traded his 904 for the IROC car. Wrong Way Corrigan of car collectors.
 Does anyone have the VIN for the "Pink" IROC car that is being discussed? I was fairly sure that the Strawberry IROC car was converted to Trans-Am spec then raced in that series in 1980. I believe it actually won the '80 Trans-Am championship and was the Porsche factory poster car pictured below. I remember the car being vintage raced by a friend of mine in the late '90s before being sold a few times and ultimately ending up on the West coast, which is where I believe it is today... still in its Trans-Am White / Blue livery. As far as I know, the car ever left the country after its IROC days. Are we talking about two different IROC cars?
