New shoes... the follow-up

To follow up on my thread of 1/03/06... my new KUMHO Ecsta 710's

Well, here we are a year later...

The 710's were, so far, the best DOT track tires I've used...

They lasted 5 full single day events... approx. 8 hours of track driving... plus about 800 total miles of driving back and forth to the track...

This is on the low-average of my experience with the life expectancy of track tires (from 5 to 8 single day events)

And they stayed good all the way till they weren't, with not much falling off in performance…

They helped me win two firsts and a second in class… plus consistently bettering my times...

All and all a VERY good race tire that came up to temp fast, were easy to manage/regulate/and predict.... and stuck like hell... ;)

Tires; Tires; Tires?????

I have only ever run the Proxes RA/1 and frankly LOVE them. I have run them now for the past year, with 9 track days total. this includes a 1,200 mile trek to RGRUPPE Sonoma last year, and running back and forth to the track. The treads are now mostly gone, and according to all who use them, now the tire comes in to its own; as slicks. (Apparently there is still half the tread thickness to use) I'm guessing there are another 6-8 track days left in these. You can actually drive them to the cords with no loss of performance according to satisfied users.

I just bought a new set for my street rims, and will rotate these to my track set up once my track tires are done later this season. I reccommend that you not heat cycle, nor shave these as this will prematurely limit their longevity. www.frisbyracetire.com Here you will find the available tire sizes under the TOYO banner available for our cars. I run 16's but I know many of you run 15's and they DO sell the popular 205/50/15 and 225/50/15 set up. Best of all they are less than $150 per tire, and shipping to LA is approx $60 and no sales tax as they are out of state. The 16's are about $40 per tire more expensive....Damn......
