Removing '72 oil tank
I want to remove the oil tank on my '72 T for the upcoming glass-out re-paint. After loosening the strap, the tank doesn't want to move. Before I do something that might damage it, are there more fasteners I can't see? Or is it just stuck tight to the inner fender?

Just stuck...assuming all the oil lines and breather hoses have been disconnected as they will 'hold' it in place.

I think you have to disconnect the lines that are in the engine compartment towards the oil filter and, be careful with the parts where the tank sits! I haven't seen much information about those pads but I doubt they are easy to find. In my case, I cleaned them ... although I think that over time ... have they lost "hardness"?

Mine took some good Tug, before "loosing up". Be patient, most likely the oil tank has not been moved since it was installed at the factory in 71/72.

If that fails get out your 32oz ball peen hammer.

Knowing that there are no hidden fasteners was key. I worked it a bit harder and it popped loose. Thanks, all!

You might consider swapping out the sender gasket if what you have is cork. Wish I had known that a rubber one is available when I installed mine a few months ago...seems my cork one is seeping a bit, and now it will be my turn to remove the tank
