R1 was entered into a competition event, which requires a safety inspection. the cord, and lead seal was an example of how the car was marked after the inspection, on the steering column. Now they use stickers... The thing to the right of the column on the dash is the main electrical kill switch, it has a special key that can be removed. Rules then required a main kill switch inside and outside of the car. For the one inside it needs to be mounted within the drivers reach, while safety belted in the seat... Ive seen the same type of switch used by the factory in one of the other R's
