Looking under the front right fender and I see this wire not connected. Its not for the spot lights. Any ideas? Two wires, one is brown and the other looks black with yellow/green. Female connectors

I believe it is for the right side horn unless both horns are on the left side on a 72. Colors match horn wiring.
Thanks. Yes, both horns are on the left side. Maybe one was moved?
My 73 S had both horns on the LEFT side and my 70 S has one on each side...just not clear when they made the change. I am looking right now at wiring diagrams for both cars (73 and 70) and indeed the wiring pair colors are consistent only with a horn in that area...so the mystery continues!
Its the optional extra horn.
72 and 73 2 horns all on LHS
What optional extra horns Gearby or are you having a lend of us?
I believe the factory or Bosch was using wiring looms leftover from '71 , so therefore the extra horn wires that would not be used on a '72 . Maybe the horns were on this side for a right hand drive car ?
True, the horns are on the left unless you purchased the optional 3rd fanfare horn. This is all according to the wiring diagram that I have for 1971 cars. Obviously the loom was the same for 72. I don't know if that option was still available in 1972 but I would think so since the car was using the same horns.
I've never seen a car with that option, nor can I imagine why anybody would want a third horn.
One more thing for you restorers to obsess about. Date matching a third horn. We haven't gotten that anal about date matching horns yet? It's just a matter of time.:p
