I'm starting to put my 68 back together and so I'm cleaning everything up. My quarter window trim has some cloudiness, I have tried a good quality aluminum polish and wet sanding(lightly) with 1000 grit. It looks a little better but I dont want to get to aggressive if it is anodized. So polished or anodized? Any other tricks? Thanks

Mac73s is correct. The anodizing is removed and the aluminum substrate is now polished, and will look good temporarily. Unless treated with some preservative (none of which will last long between treatments), the aluminum will dull as it corrodes. spb350 will see this within a few months as he compares it to the front window frames which he did not sand (I hope he did not sand). This is the same result achieved by those who advise "renewing" chrome by scrubbing it with 0000 steel wool and a chrome cleaner: the chrome (a very, very thin protective coating) gets removed and the process simply shines the nickel beneath it which will soon begin to dull.
