A search using the Porsche PETA catalog 901.105.110 1R lists this as the right camshaft for an E. The person I am buying it from states that its an S cam for MFI. Can anyone confirm what this part is? Thanks I'm inclined to believe the Porsche catalog but just want to make sure I'm not missing something. Thanks!
You're looking at the casting number, not the part number. Ask the seller what is stamped on the ends of the cams. Typically, there will be an "S" stamped there.
I have a verified original set of MFI S cams in front of me. The cam with the MFI bung has an SE stamped on it and the other side has an S. FWIW, I believe that SE would translate into S-Einspritzung or S fuel injection.
That is a garden variety 2.0 T cam. It is only useful as a weapon in a road rage encounter.Quote:

Don't believe everything that's stamped on a camshaft. The ONLY way to know FOR SURE is to have them profiled. I have also seen bone stock original 911S cams marked as 911E on the nose.
Additionally, cams can be welded and reground ... which is why Jim's 911T bludgeons aren't totally worthless.
Kent and Marco are right. You need to check the profile to be sure, and you can actually do this yourself if you know how to use a mic. Get the lift height from one of the little Porsche spec books.
Absolutely, I would encourage getting them profiled to verify what you've got.
