Would it be too ambitious to even elicit some critique or the like from some of the "pros" here? Not sure how to monitor, or if anyone would have the time but... I'd certainly take some feedback!

i'm no pro, but that is a great shot.
what are folks shooting with lately? Here is pretty much what I carry with me all day on most shoots. I do have other stuff but this seems to cover and do exactly what I need.

Subscribed. I don't know how much I can add to the conversation, but am happy to read anything that comes out of it!
Couldn't agree more... and I prefer in camera trickery to post-shoot photoshop... wish I still had the Hasselblad... something about that mechanical feel and taking time to get the shot just right!
Now I use my iPhone more than anything else, but, when pushed, use my Canon G10 or the big beast that is the 5D MkII with very fast lenses!
Nice thread!
For now I'm shooting with two older digital platforms. Canon 1DS MKII and a phase one P25 on a Mamiya 645 AFD body.
Love to take pictures.
Have a Canon 1DIII and a D400.
It's hard to take interesting car pictures.

Respectfully disagree -- I have found that with digital photos, post-shoot manipulation can be a lot of fun and produce great results. Here is another of Mark's car:

I took this with the Canon G1X -- a great rangefinder that came out in the past year. I have been using Pixelmator (cost $20 on a Mac) and I like all the things I can do with it. As an amateur, post-shooting manipulation can make up for a multitude of errors. For example, it's amazing what a difference a good crop makes.
For Digital K, I like this photo for three reasons: the sky has a lot of "motion" in it, the CIBIE decal on the side seems to stand out somehow, and by reducing the colors to just a couple, the lines of the car and the lights mounted on the front are accentuated.
