'67 Targa shocks
Just thought I'd post these pics for info purposes. The '67 Targa required Boge shocks rather that Koni. Porsche engineers thought that Koni shocks made the ride too rough. Been looking for a while (couple of years) as Boge had discontinued the shocks. Catalog listed the '68 and beyond version as the replacement. Along the way I acquired the '68 version but just recently got some original '67 versions. Slightly different so thought it might be appropriate to post pictures. The '68 version is on the left in each picture. '68 tubes are slightly larger around and the piece folding the rubber grommet is at least a 1/4 to 3/8 inches wider. For what its worth. Member here has another set of the '67 but expect to probably pay in excess of $800.00 Attachment 500753Attachment 500754Attachment 500755

It's a shame Boge does not make replacement shocks for the 67 SWT's. I guess the current choice is KYB (yuk), or Bilstein . If you try to use the wider 68 shock on a 67, the mounting bolt might not be long enough.

I ran into this problem too. I have a 1968 Targa and Porsche Classic has a Koni as a replacement. I spoke to a few other Enthusiast like Harvey Weidman and the general consensus was to run the Koni's on the softest setting or get some custom valved Bilstein's.
Good Luck in your search. I too wish Boge made a correct replacement.

I think I will go with that. Softest setting will still be a bit much even on soft. I live where the paved roads can be terrible.
