The problem I found with alternatives to Glasurit was that the metal flake was larger. For the paint to look right on my other '72 hot rod, I ponied up $1600 for a gallon of Glasurit.
Yes was pricey but worth it.no idea why the po would have wanted silver but it was his car then I guess

My car......work in progress. It's not numbers matching but I have a 1970T donor car for all the right stuff I need for the most part. So I have a question. Restore or make a fun lightweight daily driver. No air no sunroof 1970 Conda Green. "Oscar" is the exact car I was looking for. What would you do?
The trend and smart money seems to be into original restoration these days. And you've got such a cool color as a base for a resto. But at the end of the day, it's your car, your enjoyment, your call... regardless of any opinions - do whatever floats your boat ! ;-)
PS: your rotisserie is awesome !

Oh --- and start a thread!
Enjoy your choices
Here´s my 303210, rare original black and with few rare options. It´s my summer timer daily-driver as it has not yet restored. It has few non-original parts, like the newer S-badges but it is still the most enjoyable car I have owned this far.
