Hi Mike
doesn't the 69E also have a 1968T gearbox - a 228xxxx one (as original fitting)?

The 32xxxx series was a VIN series along the lines of the 30xxxx, 31xxxx, 33xxxx, 35xxxx. It was used for prototype cars. They had Kardex as well. So if one of these were converted to a 119xxxxxx series, then it could have two separate Kardex. As for production book, I assume it still exists, but I have seen no pages from the 68 or 69 books. It would be interesting to see the pages, but they may be costly to obtain. Anyone want to throw some money in the hat? BTW, we do know that the Kardex dates can be much later than the production book dates. It would also be interesting to see if there are dates for body delivery such as in the Reutter book.
Hugh: 2281682 was in 119200001

The E had the Kardex with the typed Versuch number on it which was deleted by a single pen line (still very readable) and written above it was 119200001 also in the same pen ink as I remember. So, it would appear to have only had the single modified Kardex.
The Kardex versuch number matched the secret lower dash stamping.
