It may be relevant to note that some 911744 M471 examples built during (towards the end of) the third series received series production opening window vents at rear because homologation weight was no longer a consideration and the homologation special parts ran out. Started using series production opening vent window parts during Spring ( iirc April ) 1973 as part of the progressive productionizing of the once limited edition homologation model. Another one of those small details of what a friend who has researched these cars for years terms "heavy lightweights" of the third series M471 Sport variants.
It is good such parts are being remade but sharing this for folks to avoid those going to great lengths to replicate a presumed original feature from making a glaring mistake if used on those later M471; wouldn't be authentic to repace M471 that had a factory opening vent based on a common misunderstanding!

Thanks for the input Mike..to be clear my post above was only about M471 Sport pointing out that some late M471 Sport examples left factory with rear standard hinged opening vent (i.e. normal series opening vent glass and hinged surround etc like contemporary S ). The M471 spec changed for pragmatic and no doubt cost reasons. One of many known documented spec changes during the lifecycle regarding the part being reproduced offered here ...for avoidance of doubt my post was not referring to the M491 variant of 911744. My point being simply to pont out not all M471 that get dubbed with the somewhat misleading term "Lightweight" actually had this lightweight thin glass on their two rear side windows when new.
Steve
PS I leave aside the discussion that early RS had thinner sekurit glass as covered elsewhere and is explained in RS Book. That is certainly the case but not so relevant to the different even thinner fixed brand being reproduced here.. even if the two thinner side glass points on early RS are often also confused!
For the purist
Very limited stock
Note the letter H :-)
Marek.
What about the frame? Are you making those items in Poland as well? According to my recollection, I think I once heard there was a guy in the vicinity of Wiesbaden making those frames ????

Was the M471 lightweight glass only for the 1973 and later cars, or did it apply to the early 1970/71 perhaps 72 cars as well? M471 is not well known for the 1970 cars.
