The 68... The 69 is a 4 speed (yes!!!) and the 72 is a standard pattern 915, thankfully.
The dog leg is much more thrilling to drive :)
If by thrilling you mean "what a thrill, I have no idea what gear I'm in", then I agree ;-) Yes, I'm joking...
I think if that was my only other car, I'd adapt faster and like it more... but I swap cars around a lot and this is the only one with a dogleg, and despite driving it for a while it's still unnatural. The reason I like manual cars vs automatics is that I "know" what gear I'm in just by the motion/position of the shifter. The dogleg kills that for me, I have to think about it or even look down quickly... I have a similar issue with my 73 BMW that has the turn signal on the wrong side of the steering column ;-)
Anyway, this is not the place to debate the merits of the dogleg vs more widespread pattern, let's go back to pictures ;-)
