The VIN shows this car to be a '74 Carrera 2.7 that has been butchered a bit into a slant nose whatever. Most of what the seller writes is total B.S. This is not an RS or RSR (yeah right, a thin metal RSR with a sunroof  ) but it looks to have it's orginal 911/83 motor which is worth quite a bit.
Right, not much to add. To wit:Quote:

The engine probably is correct for a '74 Euro Carrera, and this car.

As usual, buyer beware on e-bay. The sunroof was a dead give away that this was not what it was claimed to be. Another great example as to why you need to buy the right books to verify the information. My guess is that the seller was dupped into this thing and doesn't know any better...
I have informed the eBay seller. Let's see what he does; I'm think he will correct his listing after a "reality check." Let's see what happens.

I also informed him of the VIN after he responded to my question regarding the engine number. He is not familiar with the car as he responded by giving me the fan housing casting number. I believe that he is just passing along the same story that was given to him when he purchased. It is unfortunate about the body work as a '74 RoW Carrera is pretty decent car and getting even more desirible.
engine # 6631084 911/83
No kidding?!!! If this is the correct # this car has an original '73 RS motor that was delivered in RS # 3601109. I would say that at the current price that is about fair value for a correct '73 911/83 motor.Quote:

i have that car, #1109, as being sold by Mark Waring in 2002 as a numbers matching "Genuine mileage this car was maintained by the well respected French Porsche specialist, Louis Mezmarie. " which "Came 4th in a French concours event in 1999 and now imported into the UK"
I am inclined to believe Mark Waring over this ebay post and suspect that IF the correct engine had been in #1109 in 2002 it would still be there.
