Thread: retrofit windows

    retrofit windows

This might seem like a weird question, but has anyone put older swivel windows on a post '69 coupe? I live in South Florida and would love to drive my '71 through more of the summer, but without AC, it's damn near impossible, leading me to store it for the summer. I'd like to think if it had the swivel windows (can't think of what they're actually called) I'd use it a little more into the summer. I know, I know, it'd devalue the car. I'm not too worried, especially if I could change it back. Anyone?

In my estimation, it's a fools errand. I live in Texas and when summer comes those little vent windows are next to useless. You really need some speed to even feel a slight breeze through them. Not much help at all.

I have seen 68 windows and frames (alu) installed in 69>
    John Gs car has them.
I have seen >67 also but I don't know how much re-drilling is necessary.........
But I'm pretty sure you need to replace the whole frame.

Harvey is correct. 68 window frames and vent wings are a direct bolt-in for a later coupe. 67 and earlier (chrome plated brass and much heavier) not so much.
