Correct Wheels for a 1970E coupe?

I am currently in the process of restoring a numbers matching 1970 911E coupe. The COA does not list anything regarding the wheels. I believe the correct wheels for this would be the 5-1/2 X 14 Fuchs alloy.

is this correct? Was the 6 X 15 wheel an available option for the 1970E?

I remember the comfort group, that included the 14's, available as an option. I also think the 14" wheels were available as a separate option. they may have been standard on the Sportos for a while when first released.

Brett Johnson's book lists the 14" Fuchs as standard for the '70E. I am trying to decide if I should be sourcing 14" or 15" Fuchs for this car.

    I have a 1970 T
It came with the Comfort Package.
    It has the 14" Fuchs.
Tire selection for the 15" is much better than the 14"
    I belive 6 J x15 were standard on the E.

15" deep six - yes should have said option in lieu of the 14" with the pneumatic suspension

    Fuchs wheels 6x15 where an option for 911E and 911T (option M 400 : Forged alloy wheels (6 x 15) with tires 185/70 VR 15).
If the car came equipped with 6x15 it should be listed on the COA (at least its listed on the COA for my 911E, june 1970)

Per the US 1970 Porsche 911 brochure (#87-11-06020; Printed in U.S.A.) the 911E came standard with "5 1/2J x 14 light alloy for USA" (Fuchs?) wheels with "185HR14" listed as the tires. Listed (presumed to be optional?) directly below "6J x 15 light alloy" (Fuchs?) with "185/70 VR 15" listed as the tires.

Yes, 14 X 5 1/2 Alloy wheels were standard along with hydro pneumatic front struts.

    I agree with Jim.

Yes, 6X15s were optional but they should appear on your COA.
What wheels are on it now?
What do you want to do with the car?
Show it? Drive it? Sell it?
All would be in the decision about the wheels.

I have a 1970 E Coupe. It has 6x15 Fuchs on it. I bought it in 1973 in Stuttgart. It also had the hydro pneumatic struts. The CoA does not mention the wheels or other options. It also has S calipers on the front. I am fairly sure that the 6x15 was an option in 1970. The tires were 185r15.
