Originality, 1972 painted crest fuch hub cap

Was a painted crest an option in the early cars? My caps have remnants of painted crest.

Wouldn't be the first jacked up thing on my car.

    Thanks

No, they were not original, they were dealer installed.
The first hand painted crest that I saw were on the steel wheels to replicate the Super emblems.
We started to hand paint the Fuchs center caps in 73 and there were others hand painting before us.

    Thanks Harvey,

There is not much left on 3 of them. Not sure if I want to leave what I have or strip it off.

    Thanks
