Throttle linkage center connection part where, when & how?

I spent a couple of hours looking to see if there was any reference to the center connection part on the carb linkage that I have put pics up. I went though my 69 to 71 parts book nothing there. This linkage was in a box of parts when I got my 69 with no carbs. If any one could tell me the year and what type of fuel system uses this would be very much appreciated.

The rod you show with the ball end is the gas pedal link. The arm on the cross bar the rod is attached to has a homemade look to it.

I had a few like yours and thought they came of a Sporto. I never had a car w/ still a sporto installed so I have never verified it.
