Of course the 69 GTS is another inspiration for me.
The narrow-body LWB factory sports-purpose car was a very short-lived deal. Very quickly they began growing flares.

I am REALLY happy you are going to stick with the narrow body and not attach a bunch of flare (literally and figuratively)! You're starting to give me ideas as well.

Hi Jake,
I really have gone the full circle over the past few years and settled on the narrow-body as clean and simple. Plus, being an S, its not very responsible to go hacking on it...
Last week I recd some upholstery samples from Tony at Autobahn. I really like that red leather against the silver. Cant wait to see it!

I think a book could be written on the adventures and misadventures of Dave's S over the last 15 years or so Lots of fun times driving all over the country. The new and improved S will take some getting used to. Time marches on.
Narrow bodied, sports purpose....now you're talking! .......Could be a trend
Look forward to following with interest.

Fenders, doors and bumpers were dipped. I cant tell you how nice it is to pick up that pile bright bare metal steel. We tried to use as much NOS original factory green panels as possible when doing repairs.

The shop doing the metalwork and restoration is a local shop here in Dayton called Euroclassics. Its nice to have the car 10 minutes from my house so that I can project manage and help make decisions when we run into forks in the road. As mentioned, it has taken a lot longer than planned, but there have been a few surprises along the way (as happens with 40+ year old cars) and the unavoidable "mission creep" aka "while we are in there' syndrome. The work has been top notch however and Im confident that it is going to be stunning when complete.
Euroclassics also maintains a 910 and center-seat RSK for vintage racing and recently completed the body and paint work on a the famous Howard Meister 73 RSR / IMSA GTO Championship car, so my car has been in good company.
