Dave, looking forward to seeing your version of "sports purpose 911". I know you got it in you to come up with one. Anxiously waiting for the finished product.

Looking forward to further updates Dave - silver with a red interior is a great combination.

A narrow-bodied period-correct Sports Purposes hotrod is my favourite early 911 version.

Cornpanzer, that first pic in post #1 is just so "right". It takes courage to re-do a 911 that looks that good. I enjoyed your comment that you were "way ahead on value", it makes some of this make $ sense. Also the pic of the engine in post #7 made my day. You know, owners of newer Porsches just don't get this kind of entertainment when they open the engine lid.

You said that you went to Daytona twice. Was this 911 at RR 2 or RR3?

Thanks for sharing your adventure. Subscribed....

Thanks for the kind words. I'm not sure "courage" is the best choice of words though. Better choices may be A.D.D. or "a ridiculous inability to properly assess costs"

Seriously though. I hesitated to start this because I dont want to be all "look at me". But I keep seeing the complaints that we dont have enough projects on this forum so I decided I should contribute something positive instead of being the grump all the time. I am in a position where my life is fairly stable, we live modestly and I dont have kids to put through college...so this is the big splurge.

Can you share photos? I would love the inspiration and perhaps it can help me with details on mine. Thanks!

I also like the narrow body Sports Purpose early 911. I look forward to your updates.
