    CO Levels?

Can someone tell me what the correct ranges are for the CO levels out the exhaust. I am running Weber carbs. With the engine hot (185F) I am getting 4.0 at idle and 7.0 at 3000RPM. Car is not under load, just sitting in the driveway. A search didn't bring up anything definitive. I am fiddling with my carbs and would like to make sure I am working in or toward the correct range. Thanks.

Haven't used one of those for a long time!! You're about right on at idle, and I found that with a MFI car I usually needed to be in the 9% range at 3500 or so. Your type of gas will change things slightly, with the 'corn syrup' we have down here I sometimes had to get to as much as 5% at idle.

Thanks Ed. There is no corn in our gas here, ethanol free. All the gas in this area comes from a refinery to the west (Nanticoke) that is very old and not equipped for adding ethanol to the gas. At least that is what I have been told by the owners of a number of service stations around here.

BTW, the closest 3 gas stations to me still have full service. I usually do it myself however just to make sure there is no spillage or over filling.
