    PCA Parade, 2014 . . .

    OK --- it's ON!

Held-off registering for the PCA Concours, just a liiiiiiitle too long, so . . . I missed the cut-off for on-line registration, ended up having to send an e-mail to Kathleen Behrens @PCA and asking for help. I am SO NOT a Concours Person --- but The Parade only comes Out West every three years . . . and not always nearby --- let alone, CA

    And I haven't been to a parade since Craig Stevenson took me w/him to San Diego WAY back --- early '90s? . . . so . . .

. . . This would be my 2nd Parade, ever --- + my 1st as an actual paying participant. I'd be driving up from SoCal that AM, so --- wasn't expecting to do much more than show up

    Anyway, I just got an e-mail back --- w/ an invoice + balance due, so . . .

. . . looks like we get to park w/ all the clean cars!!

I will try to tidy-up 1059 when we get there --- just don't get/look too close

    'Cause, really? . . . all I wanna do? . . .

    . . . is show-off

Even laminated a placard just for the occasion

And I'm bringing a camera, a coupla ginormous SD cards, and an extra battery, so . . . .

Congrats Rick see you there. I can't believe you really entered "The Nasty One" in a Concours?

Think of it as really-really expensive parking

I'll be looking for ya, too, Bill. Gotta see that car you're bringing . . .

    More Parade, 2014 . . .

    I see John's already got his pics up . . .
    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...oncours-photos

    . . . but I'm just not there, yet. Drove there that AM, on 3 hours of sorta-sleep (including 1 on the way) . . . + took 400 pics --- gulp! . . . so this'll take a while . . .

Anyway ---- got there ~6:30. Wandered/traipsed/stumbled/limped over to what turned-out to be the Historic display area

    1st car I saw = GT1 = The Porsche from Mars. Eye-searing fluorescent something-or-t'other

    Perked me right up!

Hard to believe that there's actually some 996 DNA in there . . . somewhere

    17 years-old, now, too

    PS I'm sorry --- did I say '996'? Silly me! . . .

    . . . 993

    More Parade, 2014 . . .

    More GT1 . . .

Looks like it's melting into the ground, almost . . .

    . . . w/ Marlboro livery? --- or what's allowed/left of it

Smoke 'em if you got 'em!

    More Parade, 2014 . . .

    Another 993-derivatant . . .

    . . . GT2 . . .

. . . + somewhat more recognizable, as such. Homologation special + named for the race class it was built for. 2WD, 2900 lbs, ~450? HP

    More Parade, 2014 . . .

    More GT2 . . .

    Looks like something built from a catalog --- various body-kit bits screwed-in to taste . . . and plastic. Racetrack build-quality, too . . . + more charming/menacing/desirable for it, I think. Totally 'business'

    I recall some low-low build numbers, too --- ~50 units, maybe? . . .

. . . prolly juuuust enough to homologate
