    I recall some low-low build numbers, too --- ~50 units, maybe? . . .

. . . prolly juuuust enough to homologate
    Rick,

please permit me to expand on your flippant repartee with additional photos of the placards that accompanied these two very special cars and describe them more factually.

Owned by Jim Edwards, R Gruppes great friend and host during the "Tour to the Ditch" Treffen at his AZ collection, these two cars pretty much represent the very pinnacle of the air-cooled, street-legal 911 based concept……..fast, rare, and built for a specific purpose in just the right quantities required. The "catalogue kit parts" are all Porsche-made, originated at Weissach and are fabricated to the usual high & expected Porsche standards.

    respectfully,

    JZG

    '69 'E' Targa . . .

Interesting lid-mod. Reminds me of the old EMPI 'Inch Pincher' --- and other/misc/sundry VWs, from Back-in-the-Day. . . that ran w/ their hoods cracked open, for cooling I suppose. And I've seen this car/mod somewhere before --- and its in the Historical display, too, so . . .

    More '69 'E' Targa . . .

No info card was up when I came through, so no details. Install looks well-thought-out/-executed, though --- hardware, openings, screens, etc . . . for an oil cooler, maybe? Dunno

Didn't see the lid up. Be curious to hear how all this has/was worked-out

    More Parade, 2014 . . .

Most of the cars in the History display were still covered-up, then, so . . .

. . . headed over to the regular concours

    Hi Rick
Great pictures, was your car there? I went through in the afternoon and did not see it. This was the first concourse I have ever been to. I loved the afternoon atmosphere, people with the picnic baskets and Bottles of wine sitting by there cars relaxing and enjoying the day, and the company.

    VIN = 9112300051

Spoke for a few minutes w/ the Owner. Original German-market vehicle, w/ 60k? original kms, bought in '06 . . . and meticulously restored, since

I was amazed to hear that this car was allowed to leave Germany. And Signal Yellow?

    Spectacular

But I had some great company! Shade, too

And I didn't hang around. Got pretty crowded, so . . . gone by Noon
