Rockers looked suspect even when painted over with guards red. Under the knife they revealed rot and crappy repair work.

Fresh new bits start going into various nooks and crannies.

That's the one Rick. I remembered it from Jurgen Barth's "The Porsche Book: A Definitive illustrated History" which my dad bought me way back for my 14th birthday, in German no less. Guess that was his way of saying he wanted me to improve my German. Funny how these things resurface years later...

More new bits going into front right wheel well and passenger footwell. I guess the Kentucky climate was not too kind to the old pig. The car was originally from Kentucky and ended up in California but alas a little too late me thinks.

The floors were swiss cheese. You could see daylight in places so we knew those had to go to the scrap yard immediately. New ones properly welded in factory style.

Back to rockers and rear quarter panels. Ugly stuff. This was the point at which I was starting to feel a light headed and woozy and that I had surely lost my frikkin' mind...but having seen it all before John just took it in his stride and calmly took care of the mess one piece at a time.

I promise I'll get to the good stuff eventually but it's worth seeing some of John's handiwork. Inside rockers done with correctly placed jack point. Sorry, pics seem to upload out of order but you get the idea.
