I'm starting to hear some new rumblings. The run up in prices has been largely in the air-cooled 911s. This market appears to have stabilized. Now people are looking for the next opportunity.

Some folks are separating 911s into the Pre-VW and Post-VW eras.

This happened in the Ferrari market. Pre-Fiat cars are much more valuable than the Post-Fiat cars. Could we see a similar thing in the Porsche market at some point?

The VW purchase happened in July of 2012.

    Your thoughts?

That seems quite unlikely as there was no substantial differences in the cars. Might manifest itself over time, but seems I doubt it. Obviously there is a difference between long hoods, short hoods, and then air vs watercooled, but beyond that? Perhaps in the Boxsters and Caymans, there might be a difference between the six cylinders and the fours, but we shall see.
There are some neglected models out there price wise, and for someone looking for an inexpensive fun car to play with, the 914's are a nice option, which takes you right back to the VW question

Bottom line- many sellers but few serious sellers, even fewer serious buyers.

    Phil:

Agree. No serious buyers because too many not-so-serious sellers in need of a reality check. Half-ass cars shouldn't count.

Sort of silly when you can buy an perfect car for about $100,000 more if not less.

    Volvo PV 544: $34,100.

    I missed the popcorn wagon...

unfortunatly many of those cars never make it to austria cause there are some austrian car flippers that store them somewhere abroad...
