Hi Guys , i went to the metal spinners this morning to sort my normal stuff and sign off on the scrs air covers . I gave them a cibie cover to assess and they are easy on it so will make a buck to work off and give me a sample next week.

next is the brackets to find someone to form and the rivets . so all in all we should have these sorted in 2 weeks

As far as I know, Rene has already put another batch of these in production and he is waiting for his shipment from a country far and away.
Will check with him after the wekend what the status is. These things take time....

I need to do some repair work on a couple of my covers which will involve drilling out the rivets and repainting. Anyone know of a source for the rivets?

if we make them out of ali just the caps (no brackets / paint etc...) would be approx $41US each plus postage is that in the ball park ? i am still chasing the brackets to be fabricated.

John, is it 41 USD each, or per pair ? I wouls manage the cover only, as the brackets and rivets should not be a bit issue to do/issue - am not a 100%purist.

Complete sets were on ebay.de for 100 euro (or may be it was 119 euro incl tax).

If Rene is able to meet his old price and they would become available for 100/119 euro again than $82 ($41 x 2) for just the metal w.o rubber, brackets, paint and decals, might be not competitive? The question of course is, how soon will Rene have them available. If they are on order like Alex says than you might end up being stuck w. them.

    Just my $.02

    Hi there,
Yes they are on order, but they are still testing a few improvements in the production.
(different paint process and better graphics) but they will become available soon.
Rene was not able to give me an exact time line, but I'll ping him every now and then.

There may be room for the 2 offerings : the one from Rene Cibie repro, complete and the one from John for customisation.

For Rene I am not afraid that he will be stuck since he is working w/ the big vendors and probably already has sold have of his order, but for John I hope he will do well especially when prices are comparable and Rene's are closer to the original.

    Again no affiliation.
