Polishing. It's a multi-step process done with what looks like a floor sander. It's fairly easy but takes specialized equipment and plenty of time.

If you're pouring a new floor, you can get a surface pretty closed to polished by using a float as the concrete is setting up.

+1 except you can't buy one yet unless someone knows differently.

James Asked: "So I'm asking you, what have you acquired that really made work in the garage less of a burden, more of a pleasure? And specifically about lifts, how high do they have to go to be useful?
    All thoughts welcome."

Here are my "comfort" and "pleasure" items in my garage.

    #1. My "Comfort Station"
#2. Beer cooler, wine storage unit and a Snap-on tool cabinet leaded with lightly used snap-on tools.
#3. Typical contents of beer cooler.
#4. My lift and my 62 Super 90 Cab undergoing a trans rebuild.

I do wish I lived closer to Santa Rosa. It is 3 hour trip for me to replenish the fridge with Pliny the Elder.

    Regards

    Jim

I did the polished concrete, it was cheeper than a professional coating. My concrete was a real mess after construction as floor was done first because of steel work. Cleans up good not really slippery. The vaulted celling is where I put my lift. No room for a bathroom. Gled

    Great!

That beats the heck out of crawling on the floor where there is limited ceiling height.
