    67 912 with 62162 paint code

    I have a 67 912 with "Velvet Green" paint code 62162 (see photo below, shows "97, 62162L")

It was resprayed in a lighter green/teal color, but I'm finding the original velvet green underneath.

See pictures below. It seems similar to the VW color, it's the darker of the two colors shown in each photo.

It seems this color hasn't been cataloged, are there any people that would want to come take an accurate color match image of this?

I'm going to try to get a good color match done. The car is almost ready for paint. Will be sending it out in the next couple weeks.

I'm in San Diego county, if anyone knows someone that would be interested in capturing this color let me know.

    Andy

Yes, 6861 was a generic color code for paint to sample.

    For the records re 1969 (older posts from above);

Pls note 9369 is not as 9368.
9368 is Sonderlack aka Special paint or Special color.
9369 is Paint to sample. Possible the Kardex also says Sonderlack. Silvermetallic also is within 9369.

"9368 special paints or special colors
    (6821 through 6838, 6852, 6853, 6854 according to special colour book"

"9369 Silvermetallic (6851) and special colors outside special colours book (6861)"

Pls note 9369 is not as 9368.
9368 is Sonderlack aka Special paint or Special color.
9369 is Paint to sample. Possible the Kardex also says Sonderlack. Silvermetallic also is within 9369.

Looks great Andy, congratulations! Looks very blue in the pics, guessing that's both camera and computer screen. Could you send me a few pics by email: shaun at tru-6 dot com.

    Thanks!

I had to have some of the Andy's PPG formula mixed up. I think it's very close. Might shoot a decklid and a card with it this weekend to see what it looks like against the little bit of original paint I have on the car.
