    1972 911s - Churchill rally car

Starting this thread for a new member , the following may be coming up for tender by the owner in the near future and it would be a good one to discuss and find more history on prior to it's sale .

Was the engine a 71S engine...or is the number a misprint? It is a pretty high VIN number for a late 71S engine. Maybe some special things going on with the engine.

well this is where it gets interesting the car was supposedly built on a factory experimental G body shell that has a s 72 vin in 1974 ? as the original vin'd 72s car burnt out ?

Hi thanks for picking up my mistake on my document I have transposed the engine number incorrectly the engine number should read as 6341449. My understanding is that it was based on a 1974 2.7 crankcase it also has 7R on the crankcase

Thanks for the emails I received today with info on my 911. I was fortunate enough to receive an email from Joe quoting the following "The car is featured in a recently published book on Porsche's rallying in Ireland and has two colour photographs including the win on the Galway Summer Rally" I have tried to buy a copy of this book today but they are sold out, would really appreciate if someone could send me a copy of the photo's from the book? Cheers Geoff
