3 weeks driving around Italy in a classic 911

    So I'm off.

I'm typing this from 35,000 feet as I head to Milan to pick up my newest addition: a 1972 911T in Albert Blue with red interior.

Some of you may remember my thread looking for a car in Europe:

Much thanks goes to fellow registry member Andrea70 who was immense help on the ground in Milan as well as to all the other members who sent me leads and advice. I found a great car and I'm indebted to each of you.

I land in Milan tomorrow and then the fun begins: From Milan to Arezzo, Arezzo to Positano, Positano to Porto Ecole, Porto Ecole to Portofino, and Portofino back to Milan (with plenty of stops along the way). I have a feeling that it's going to be an adventurous three weeks.

I'll post some photos along the way for anyone who's interested. My thanks again for everyone who helped make this happen. It almost makes getting married worth it!

    LiveFromNY Congratulations!

Great looking car and a beautiful color combination. Is this the Euro version '72T with Zeniths?

Three weeks in Italy in your own 911?...You Dog!...

Since you're getting married and since everything in Italy is within "arm length's" distance you gott'a go a little north from Milano(watch the pick-pockets!) to Como, take the little car-ferry(inexpensive and goes often) to Varenna...make the ferry-stop and pay homage to the "mother" of all car concourses (Villa D'Este)....wave goodbye to Clooney and continue with next ferry to Bellagio for a late lunch(hopefully you bought your wife all the leather gods in Como, if not, now it's too late and you'll pay much more!)....after lunch continue with the ferry just across to Varenna....try to stay at "Hotel du Lac" right at the water(actually the building is in the water)...sit on your balcony and enjoy the view of Bellagio and the evening colours over the lake and get drunk...(Oops,I forgot you have other things to do)...anyway, the owner's husband is a big Formula 1 fan, they have a descent restaurant and a great breakfast...continue next day on the other side of the lake...go down to Monza or something...

Right about now you're probably tired of everybody telling you what to do...so just go and have a ball.../ Lars...
